Just one more preseason game to go. The Los Angeles Chargers will travel to Levi’s Stadium to battle the San Francisco 49ers, looking to end the preseason on a high note.
The Chargers are coming off of their first win of the preseason, a 21-19 victory over the Los Angeles Rams last Saturday night. Against the 49ers, winning the game will be secondary to evaluating the roster as the team prepares for the league-mandated cutdown period.
Teams will have to trim their rosters from 90 players to 53 following this game.
Among the things to watch for in this game include whether or not Cardale Jones can prove he should be the team’s backup quarterback, a great battle for the team’s No. 3 running back spot and whether or not players such as Nigel Harris, James Onwualu, Jamaal Jones and Sean Culkin have any kind of future with the team.
Finally, can Younghoe Koo take a crack at kicking a field goal? Just one? Perhaps another team out there will like what they see out of him.
