We are a few days into the NFL’s free-agent signing period, and to this point, the Los Angeles Chargers have been primarily focused on making decisions regarding their own free agents.
Safety Jahleel Addae, backup quarterback Kellen Clemens and long snapper Mike Windt were all given new contracts while D.J. Fluker, Stevie Johnson and Brandon Flowers were all released in order to create room under the salary cap.
However, the only player the Chargers have brought in to this point is offensive tackle Russell Okung.
With still several productive players left on the market, I took a look at the Chargers’ current roster and came up with this list of players that are still available to be signed that the team should give strong consideration to.
According to Overthecap.com, the Chargers are down to about $13.7 million in available cap space. From that, the 2017 draft class will have to be signed. As a result, I wouldn’t expect the Chargers to make many more moves in free agency, but there’s still some sensible deals out there that could be reached.
