The San Diego Chargers are looking to return to the postseason. What games on their schedule are going to be the most important?

With all of the crazy news in the basketball world that is dominating headlines, football is finally right around the corner. Training camp is less than two weeks away, so let’s take a look at the most important games on the San Diego Chargers’ schedule.

These games can make or break the season. In 2013, the Chargers ended the season on a four-game winning streak, coming up with huge victories in important scenarios. The 2015 season was an entirely different story. The team lost 8 games by minimal margins and the year was an enormous failure.

Last season, there were more than a few crucial moments that led to a 4-12 record, but one that really stands out is the 37-29 loss to the Oakland Raiders in Week 7. The scoreboard doesn’t do the game justice. The Chargers were down 37-6 prior to a 23-point fourth quarter, where the Raiders were playing prevent defense and basically allowing San Diego to score.

This loss basically ended the Chargers’ season. After two close losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers, fans still had hope that the team could turn it around. It’s hard to blame the fans, especially with the Chargers’ history of being almost unbeatable in the month of December; but the loss to Oakland ended all hope of postseason play.

If the Chargers want to prove that 2016 is going to be different,  the team needs to win the majority of the following games.
