Following the conclusion of the 2016 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers and Arizona State quarterback Mike Bercovici agreed to an undrafted- free agent contract.
So happy for my brother @MikeBerco going to the Chargers! He will make it in this league! No doubt in my mind!

The Calabasas, Calif. native claimed the starting job this season for the Sun Devils after filling in admirably for quarterback Taylor Kelly in 2014. He completed 60 percent of his passes, throwing for 3,860 yards, 30 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
Most notably, Sun Devils fans remember their quarterback for a five-touchdown effort against No. 16 USC at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The game ended in dramatic fashion as Bercovici tossed up a prayer from midfield as time expired only for current Houston Texans wide receiver Jaelen Strong to reel in the game-winning score.

While a 6-7 record as a full-time starter did not catch the eye of any team during the NFL Draft, Bercovici’s tremendous arm strength, and high football IQ were enough for San Diego to give him a shot.
Current quarterback Phillip Rivers has shown no sign of slowing down or any intention to retire, however; signing a young quarterback was a smart move by a team who has little depth behind its starter.
