The team has added Travis Benjamin in the offseason and now re-signed Philip Rivers’ favorite target. Mr Reliable will be back for at least another season with the San Diego Chargers.
With Benjamin now on the team, his presence on the field should open up the field a little more for Antonio Gates to do work. Gates might be climbing in age, but he still has shown the ability to get open when the team needs him the most. He still is a top threat in the red zone and on 3rd down.
Philip Rivers will get his guy back and they will be looking to hook up throughout the season moving those chains and putting up those points. Will the Chargers be able to re-sign their other tight end that is available in the open market. Ladarius Green would be another player that would be able to flourish on offense, but there are a lot of teams that are interested in signing him to their roster.
Thank God Antonio is back in the blue and yellow. It would have been weird to see him in any other jersey other than ours. Hopefully we can make a run to the playoffs in this final contract he has with the team.
