Down goes another San Diego Chargers weapon. The Chargers loss Keenan Allen in the middle of the game yesterday after catching a touchdown in the corner of the end zone and that injury is going to keep him out for some time.
Mike McCoy said Chargers WR Keenan Allen has kidney injury. Not going to put timetable on it, "but he's going to miss some time."

Allen was having a strong season. His connection with Philip Rivers this season was on a new level, but now the team will have to continue on without him. This season already has been a mess and the team does not have to rush Allen back onto the field until he is feeling well again. With the team sitting at 2-6, the Chargers can start looking at other potential options on the roster to make an impact.
The team should bring up some of the talent that is sitting on the practice squad to see if they are ready to make an impact on the roster. With Allen out, the team will have Malcom Floyd and Stevie Johnson as the main targets at wide receiver and Dontrelle Inman will be the 3rd wide receiver on the team. The team also has Jacoby Jones to play receiver, but it would be better if they let some of the younger players get a chance.
The Chargers have Javontee Herndon and Tyrell Williams sitting on the practice squad and they could get their chance to play with Allen sitting out. We will see if the team decides to make a roster move.
