The San Diego Chargers used their top draft pick to select Melvin Gordon, but he has yet to have that breakout game. Everyone sees the potential that he has on the field and he breaks loose for some breathtaking runs, but he follows them up with 1- and 2-yard gains. Why hasn’t the young back been able to break loose for a ton of yards and why hasn’t he been able to find the end zone?
We have already seen Todd Gurley break loose for some big games and he has only played in a couple of games this season. When will Gordon get his opportunity? Will Gordon even get the opportunity to break loose like Gurley on this team?
Here are some reasons why Gordon has not been able to break loose:
