Tonight the Indianapolis Colts are travelling to Houston to take on the Texans. Both teams are struggling to say the least. The Colts were a Super Bowl favorite before the season started, but have looked like a bottom tier team. Andrew Luck has struggled mightily, the running game has been non-existent, and the defense has looked pretty terrible too. The team barely squeaked out a win last week when the Jaguars took them to overtime… OVERTIME! The defense played awful in that game!
The Houston Texans have been bottom-feeding for years now, and despite having JJ Watt heading up a decent defense, they keep finding themselves on the losing side of the ball. DeAndre Hopkins has been a bright spot for this team, and keeps putting on great performances. But, the bottom line is that the Texans have a lot of work to do before they can even consider a wild-card spot. They are sitting at 1-3, and are barely ahead of the last place Jags, who have the same record. The AFC South is a mess this year, to put it bluntly.
The Colts are still far-and-away the favorite to win this division, barring unforeseen injuries. Hopefully, these two teams give us some excitement in tonight’s game, and it isn’t a punt-fest.
Having said that, I figured we would keep the trend of open threads going. It’s primetime, and teams tend to step up their game under the bright lights. Feel free to leave comments on the thread below. Maybe you have some fantasy players in this game, like I do, and have a reason to watch. If nothing else, I am rooting for the Texans to take down the Colts, and keep them in the Charger’s rearview mirror in the playoff race, because I am not seeing the Texans making a run at anything this season.
