How in the heck are the San Diego Chargers supposed to fix this defense? Can it even be done?

Getting back Jason Verrett and Brandon Flowers will be huge. If they are able to get back on the field, then it would be huge for the secondary. The toughest thing to fix is this tackling issue. We miss a lot of tackles. Manti Te’o missed 7 tackles on Sunday. That is a crap ton of tackles that he missed out on that need to be made. We cannot allow him to keep missing those tackles. If he can’t make them, then we need to put someone else on the field that can actually make those tackles.
Te’o is supposed to be good in pass defense, but he was burned over and over against Duke Johnson. If he cannot step it up, then someone else needs to be given the opportunity. We cannot allow for mediocrity to stay on the field.
Denzel Perryman should get more and more opportunities to play at linebacker. Teams are looking to run the ball down our throats at this point in the season and Perryman will be able to make the tackles and will give the team a thumper. Let him get his chance on the field if Te’o can’t make the plays.
