Week 1 is in the books and the San Diego Chargers already have racked up an award. Philip Rivers has been voted the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week for his performance against the Detroit Lions.
Chargers QB Philips Rivers was voted FedEx Air NFL Player of Week. He threw for 404 yards and 2 TDs in a win over the Lions last week.

Philip tore up the Detroit Lions defense despite tossing a pair of picks in the game. One was a poorly thrown ball in the end zone and another bounced off his receivers chest. He finished the game with 404 passing yards and a couple of touchdowns completing 83.3 percent of his passes.
The Chargers offense relied on the short passing game and Philip allowed his receivers to make plays after the catch. Keenan Allen, Stevie Johnson and Ladarius Green made a number of plays after the catch to pick up some big chunks of yards. This award is given to Philip Rivers, but his receivers made it all happen with the yards they picked up after the catch and the line always deserves credit for when the quarterback gets an award.
That is all in the past now though and this team is looking to do it again against the Cincinnati Bengals. Can Philip and the Chargers offense put together another stellar performance on the road to beat the Bengals?
