The latest report on the San Diego Chargers injury front believes that the injury to DJ Fluker will not keep him out as long as we first had thought. When we all first saw the injury with Fluker, we thought that he was going to be done for the year. When the cart came out and we saw him struggling to stand up right, we were trying to think of who was available in free agency.

The first reports that came out on the injury had him out from 4-6 weeks, but now the latest report from the UT believes that he could only miss a couple of weeks for the Chargers. That is hard to believe after we saw the pain on his face on Sunday, but that is spectacular news.

While Fluker is out, the team will likely use Chris Hairston in the starting lineup at the guard position. He has been taking the first team snaps at practice.

Fluker made the switch from right tackle to right guard during the Chargers preseason and had his struggles picking up the differences in the position during the preseason. In the first week he shined though. He was out in front of the running game and screen passes and was laying people out. He protected Philip Rivers well and showed a lot of potential for the future. Unfortunately he will have to wait a few games before he can build on that performance.
