Ryan Mathews showed potential, but he could never stay on the field and he was fumbling the football all over the field. He never could get it all together. He was a disappointment for the fans. Everyone thought he could be an amazing back if he was able to stay on the field, but his inability to stay on the football field hurt his reputation with the fans.

Now the Chargers fans can’t trust their running back’s potential. Since Mathews was a highly touted back that was traded up for in the first round, people will start to believe that Gordon is cut from the same cloth.

Gordon was taken in the first round after the team had traded up to take him. He showed a ton of potential in the college game and he will have to reestablish himself as a top runner in front of his new fans.
