San Diego Chargers S Eric Weddle will return to the field with the rest of the team after holding out for a new contract.

Eric Weddle is going to end his holdout with the team and will get to camp with the rest of his teammates. The team has made their stance and said that they will not negotiate with him this offseason, so he will just get back to the field and play for his new deal.

.@JasonPhilCole says "Weddle will return to the team, and will not continue his holdout because the Chargers have drawn a line in the sand."

Line in the sand meaning Chargers will not be talking to him about a contract ext. Cole also says Weddle may not want to participate in ST.

The team may not want to negotiate a deal with him this season, but they still want him to ball out on the field this season. It has to be a weird situation for him as he returns to the field. How does he feel about his future with the team? Will he hold bitterness to the team if the Chargers eventually change their mind and want to keep him around?

Eric Weddle is a key player on the defense. He is the best player on the defense and gets everyone in the right spot on defense. The rest of the team has confidence in him back there in the secondary. It will be huge to have him performing as one of the best safeties in the game. Will he be playing at a  top level? Not a good situation for the team right now.
