The Chargers picks are in and the draft went just how we all expected… well, sort of… well, actually…
This is how it was for Tazz this weekend:
Round 1 – We traded what to move up?Round 2 – We didn’t take a lineman?Round 3 – Who? Why? Now?Round 4 – Oh yeah… we never pick in the 4th.Round 5 – NDSU, that’s a real thing?Round 6 – I knew we were going to pick a lineman.
Melvin Gordon has the potential to be the next ‘great’ running back for the Chargers
Questions. There were a lot of questions this weekend. But in TT we trust! Always, right?
Now that I have had sometime to think about it here are my thoughts.
Melvin Gordon is a stud running back. The Chargers had him listed as an impact player and I think he is going to be just that. This was no reach. He has the potential to be the next great running back for SD. Great pick and I don’t mind that we burned a few picks to get him.

Denzel Perryman looks like the guy we need in the middle. Even though he was not a lineman I am excited about this pick. The dude is going to bring some attitude and fear to the middle of the field.
Craig Mager looks like a solid cover man. I like his aggressive style of play. With the injuries we had to cornerback last year it will be nice to have some quality depth at this position. The Chargers may also look at moving him to safety.
Kyle Emanuel is the pick that has me scratching my head the most. We needed depth at OLB and I guess he provides it. He seems to have a great nose for the ball and a good motor. I hope his game translates into the NFL.
Darius Philon looks impressive on tape. I’m not sure why he slid to the 6th other than he was only a sophomore. This was a great pick for the 6th round. Darius may turn out to be a total steal for the Chargers.
