There are a number of fans that were not interested in taking a running back in the first round with the depth of this draft, but the Chargers didn’t see it the same way. The team wanted to take Melvin Gordon and wanted to move up in order to ensure that he was there when they made their pick. Tom Telesco is always willing to move up in the draft in order to get the player he wants.
Gordon will be an instant starter on offense and should make a ton of plays for the Chargers offense. Was it the right move though?
The team could have waited to find some solid talent at the position in the next round. The team could have taken a solid player to play in the trenches. The team could have taken Shane Ray with the selection and put him in the front 7 with the rest of our players. Did the Chargers make the right move by selecting Melvin Gordon with the 15th pick?
