San Diego Chargers sign OT Chris Hairston

The San Diego Chargers have signed OT Chris Hairston for depth on the offensive line.

The San Diego Chargers signed Chris Hairston to the roster on Wednesday. He will likely be the swing tackle on the roster, playing behind D.J. Fluker and King Dunlap at the tackle spots. Hairston has spent the last 4 seasons with the Buffalo Bills where he did get a chance to work with Chargers OL coach Joe D’Allesandris.

Hairston was drafted by the Bills in the 4th round out of Clemson. He stands at 6-foot-6 and 330 pounds. He is another monster to add to the offensive line.

The team will still be looking to fill the hole at the right guard position. Johnnie Troutman currently holds the starting job with the team at the position, but the team needs to find someone that can take that starting job.

The Chargers worked out Hairston a few weeks ago and have brought him on for depth on the roster. The team still has other areas of weakness that they will need to address during the draft and with some vets from free agency. At this moment, most of the focus is toward the draft at the end of the month. The Chargers hold the 17th pick in the first round and could look to add another offensive lineman when they choose to make their selection.

Hairston announced his signing over twitter with this tweet:
