The San Diego Chargers have shown a lot of interest in Boise State RB Jay Ajayi.
The San Diego Chargers will be in the hunt for a running back in the upcoming draft. Both Mike McCoy and Tom Telesco said that they would be OK with the backs that they currently have on the roster, but there is no doubt that the team will be bringing in a new back early in the draft. The team is expected to select a running back in the first couple of rounds in the draft.
There are a number of running backs that the Chargers could pursue in the draft. A lot of experts have the team selecting Melvin Gordon or Todd Gurley in the first round of the draft. Another back that should be available in the 2nd round has been getting a lot of interest from the San Diego Chargers. Boise State RB Jay Ajayi has caught the eye of the Chargers staff.

The team spent dinner with Ajayi before his Pro Day and the Chargers have shown a lot of interest in him before the draft. He would be able to help the Chargers run game tremendously if he were taken by the team. He would be the immediate starter for the Chargers.
He would provide the ability to make plays in the pass game and also would be a constant threat in the run game. He would be a big contributor to the team in moving the chains for the first down and would be the team’s main goal line threat.
The Chargers need someone like Ajayi in the backfield and there are a number of fans that would like to have Ajayi running the ball for the Chargers. He has all the skills that the Chargers would want in a back. He would be a great fit on the roster and could make an immediate impact in the league.
