Ryan Mathews had some interesting time with the tweet that read “Blessed!”
Ryan Mathews had not sent out a tweet in the last 22 days, but he sent out a tweet that simply read “blessed” on Monday night. The night before free agency officially opens up and Mathews sent that out. Seems like an interesting time to post your first tweet in a long time with the text “Blessed!”

To add to the fire, the San Diego Chargers also were in communication with Mathews’ reps on the day.
Some communication today between Chargers, Ryan Mathews' reps. "Nothing is happening right now," source says, but subject to change.

If you want to put those two things together, it would seem that the Chargers are closing in on a deal with Ryan. The Chargers are interested in bringing Mathews back, but it will depend on what Mathews is looking for in a deal. The team still needs a lead back on the roster. Whoever will be the lead back will get some big men creating holes for the running game.
Orlando Franklin was brought onto the roster and could be used at the right tackle or at the left guard position. If Franklin is on the right side, then D.J. Fluker will be plowing people over at the guard spot. The team also will be looking to add another lineman onto the roster to compete for a starting job.
Will Ryan Mathews be the lead back for the Chargers next season or will the team add someone else to take the ball?
