For the job security of head coach Mike McCoy

McCoy is a fantastic coach. I personally think he is a perfect fit in San Diego. He has brought life back into an offense that suffered the final years of the Norv Turner era. But let’s face it, in the NFL today you’re expected to produce now. If Marty can get fired after posting seasons of 13-3 and 14-2, I am convinced that no coach is ever safe in the NFL. One year of losing creates tension within an organization. That’s exactly how Jim Harbaugh found his way out of San Fransisco despite taking them to NFC championship games in prior back to back seasons. The Chargers have missed the playoffs four times in the last five seasons. Don’t expect the same toleration that Norv Turner got before getting the boot.
