The big man is going to help the offensive line whether it is at the tackle spot or at the guard position. He has struggled a bit with the speed off of the edge and that is the main topic of discussion when the idea of moving him inside is brought up. He is still a load up front and part of the solution.

Wherever he plays, he will bring an attitude up front. He will bring a mentality that will look to lay players out. He is looking to plow through defenders in the run game. He already has taken over a leadership role in his short time with the team and he will have a nice future up front for the Chargers.

At some point, he will likely get pushed inside at right guard. It might not be this coming season, but his feet are too heavy at the edge at times. He has never played the position in his football life, but he is willing to make it happen.

He was asked about the potential move in the past and he shared his thoughts via the UT:

“I like playing at tackle, because I can set the edge,” he said. “Me playing guard, I could play it. I’m not saying I couldn’t play it. I probably could.

“But at tackle, the D-ends, they’re so light, when I get the edge on them, and take them out of the picture, there’s nobody left.”

His attitude is perfect. He is just looking to help the team out in any way that he can.
