Dec 20, 2014; Santa Clara, CA, USA; San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers (17) at the line during overtime against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi

Philip Rivers will be on the field on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Was there any doubt that he would get on the field? He will not miss a game if he can still walk and throw a football.

Word that Philip Rivers was playing with a bulging disc in his back leaked after the game on Saturday. There was some talk that Philip may miss some time with the injury and there is the possibility of surgery. Anyone that has seen Philip play this game knows that he will not miss any part of it, especially at this stage of the game.

The playoffs are on the line. There is no way that Philip will miss the game. He might have to sit out a couple of practices during this week to rest the injury, but he won’t miss the game on Sunday. Philip took a couple of rest days early in the practice week to keep the pressure off of his back before the 49ers game. He may need to stick with the same routine this week and throughout the playoffs.

He still got on the field and had an amazing second half performance for the Chargers. We are going to need him to put on that Superman cape all over again.
