San Diego Chargers Inability to Intercept

I think we can all agree that Brandon Flowers needs to be atop the off-season priority list. We can also agree that Jason Verrett is going to be a complete and total stud. If he can stay healthy, his impact on our secondary is tremendous. The kid has loads of energy and flies to the ball. He plays big and doesn’t shy away from contact. The other thing I love about Verrett is that he has hands. The guy knows how to catch, which cannot be said for our defense as a whole.
Did you know the Chargers rank 27th overall with just 7 interceptions on the season? Not including post-season games the Chargers have digressed over the past four years continually. The team posted 17 interceptions in 2011, 14 in 2012, 11 in 2013, and just 7 with two games to go in 2014. Here’s the bigger question. Why?
