Get ready for this thing to blow up. San Diego Chargers DE Corey Liuget just went on air and said this about the fans and about the home crowd:
“To me, we had 16 away games this whole season,” Liuget said. “But that’s due to the lack of not winning, and fans are just not coming out and supporting. But I know we have some real true, loyal, die-hard fans that, if they could afford to come to the game, they would. That’s just part of the nature of the beast. But it definitely did feel like an away game.”
16 away games this whole season? That is stupid to say since we only have played in 14 games!
That is not the right thing to send out to the fans at this time. With the team struggling to produce on the field, Corey thinks that it is a smart idea to call out the fans for not showing up to the game?
What is the typical response from the fans when the players say this crap?
IF YOU GUYS COULD WIN SOME GAMES, THEN WE WOULD COME OUT AND SUPPORT.
This is reminding me of Shaun Phillips talking to the media. This is the type of response that the media was looking for when they asked the question!
The Chargers need to focus in on getting this offense fixed and focus in on getting to the playoffs. The possibility is still there, but with the way the team has been playing on offense, it seems far away.
It is good that the team feels like they have been on the road all season, since that is the only chance that we will have to make it into the playoffs. We have been prepped well for this push! Now we just need to win these final 2 games.
