The San Diego Chargers have the big game against the Denver Broncos today. It is going to be an epic battle. I hit up the staffers to see their thoughts on the game and mainly wanted to see some bold predictions from them for this game.

Here are some of their thoughts followed by my commentary.

Ryan Mathews plays – Pete Spinning

I hope Ryan gets on the field. If Ryan plays AND FINISHES the game, the San Diego Chargers will win this game. If Ryan is not in the game, then it is going to be a struggle. I don’t think we beat the Broncos without Mathews on the field.

Peyton Manning won’t finish the game – Michael Norton

Peyton won’t finish the game? Will it be because of a Dwight Freeney sack that takes him out of the game? Even better, will Peyton have to sit on the bench early because the Chargers are coasting through the game and the Broncos need to sit Peyton to ensure that he didn’t take any more hits? I guess the Broncos could be winning so bad that he has to be sitting as well. I won’t think about that one. We did lose to the Miami Dolphins 3 million to nothing though earlier this year.

Establish a running game, keep Rivers upright, pressure Manning..Chargers win 31-24. Abandon running game, allow Rivers to get sacked +4 times/unblock free blitzers, give Manning time to throw and keep our offense off the field..Chargers lose 31-17 – Matthew Pagels

This game is dependent on the running game. If we cannot get this run game going, then we are going to lose this thing. We need to run it and keep on running it.
