We still have some time till the offseason, but I can’t help but think about Brandon Flowers becoming a free agent at the end of the year. Flowers needs to be re-signed at the end of the season without any question. Just start cranking open the bank doors right now to prep for the new deal.

He was brought onto the roster after the Kansas City Chiefs released him and has been a steal. We should be arrested for this steal in the division. The work that he was able to do on Steve Smith over the weekend was out of this world.
Smith is a dynamic offensive player that is bound to break loose for a long play at any time. I know he is pushing a walker these days, but he still has been productive this season despite the age. Productive… but not on Sunday against Brandon. Smith was held to 1 catch for 2 yards. 2 yards! Flowers also had the last tackle in the game to keep the receiver inbounds to keep the clock rolling to finally end the game.
That is they type of corner that we have been trotting out there on defense. That is the type of corner that we have to keep on this roster. Smith was thrown to 4 times in the game and only caught 1 pass for those 2 yards.
He needs to be on this team for a few more seasons. This defense has some holes on the roster, but Brandon Flowers is one of hte bright spots on that side of the ball. Imagine having a whole season with Flowers on the roster with Jason Verrett returning from injury. We won’t talk about Shareece Wright at the moment. We will just talk about the possibilities of the little corners on the outside locking things down.
Tom Telesco better have that gameplan for the offseason ready. Flowers needs to be at the top of the list.
