Chris Watt fell victim to the injury bug in the game against the Baltimore Ravens. The San Diego Chargers had to use their 5th center this season after Watt went down. Watt’s injured his calf in the game and had to take a seat on the sideline with the injury and gave way to Trevor Robinson to take the snaps at center with the first team.

Robinson played well in his short amount of time and may be needed to start against the New England Patriots on Sunday. Robinson would be the team’s 5th different starter at the position this year. The team has not had a stable player in the middle all season.
The team has already placed 3 different cetners on the IR list, but Watt is not expected to be the 4th on the list. His injury should not call for another player on the IR list. We still are not sure how long the injury will keep him on the sideline though. The team would have to add another center on the roster if Watt is unable to play this weekend. The depth at the position was already thin and will need another option if Robinson were to go down.
Watt has shown nice potential in his limited amount of playing time this year. He could be the starting center for the future. The team would love to have him back on the field for this final stretch run in the regular season. There are a number of tough games left on the schedule and Watt would be the best option to have on the field. Will he be ready for the regular season or will he only be an option when we make the playoffs?
Chargers have placed three centers on IR. Sunday's calf injury not expected to make Chris Watt the fourth, source said.
