Shaun Phillips has been released by the Tennessee Titans and every time a former San Diego Chargers player is released, people want to bring them back onto the roster. Let’s bring Phillips to the topic of discussion.

The Chargers need help getting to the quarterback and this has been Phillips specialty. We all know what he is able to bring to the field and some of us loved having him on the defense. Others hated his attitude. I am one of the people that loved Phillips on defense.
Even though I love Phillips I don’t think Phillips has much left. It is John Pagano’s opinion that matters though. Would John Pagano want to bring back Phillips? Pagano was the linebackers coach on this team forever and has worked with Phillips for a long, long time. Would the Chargers want to give Phillips one last run?
The team had a bigger need at pass rush before the return of Melvin Ingram and Jerry Attaochu, but with them back in the mix, the team doesn’t have a ton of snaps available for Phillips to take. He still could work his way onto the field if he can show that pass rushing ability. He has 2 sacks this year and had 10 sacks with the Broncos last season. He wouldn’t be a terrrible pick up.
Would Phillips be a better player than Tourek Williams? Most definitely, but Phillips wouldn’t play special teams like Williams. The only value that Williams brings is on that part of the field. Phillips is out there for the picking. Should the Chargers consider bringing him in?
