The San Diego Chargers have released RB Shaun Draughn off of the roster. He made the trip out to Miami with the team. but will not take part this weekend. That sounds like one awkward flight back for the back.

The signing of Adrian Phillips was made so that the team had someone to take the place of Jahleel Addae on the roster.  Addae will not play this weekend because of the concussion that he suffered last weekend.

After the team had released Richard Marshall off of the roster, they released part of the depth at safety on the roster. The signing of Phillips will add more depth in the secondary.

The release of Shaun Draughn likely means that Donald Brown is available for the game this weekend. It will be interesting to see what role he has on the roster and where he fits on the depth chart. Will he be the back to come in on 3rd down or will he just be a back that comes in when Branden Oliver needs a breather.

Draughn didn’t see much action on the team. He was signed as insurance with all the injuries to the roster. The addition of Ronnie Brown onto the team made him a loose part that didn’t get much action.
