Rest Is Right Around the Corner for the Chargers

After Thursday Night Football, the San Diego Chargers will play in 1 game in 23 days.

There is a breath of fresh air right around the corner for the injured and beaten San Diego Chargers. The Chagrers have a couple of games until their BYE week and they will be able to get some much needed days off. We need to win these two games first before we can start thinking about that rest, but after the game on Thursday, the Chargers will only have to play in one game in the next 23 days.

After their TNF game, #Chargers will play 1 game in 23 days — longest span an NFL team has ever gone playing just 1 game. Schedule quirk.

More from LA Chargers News

That is the type of rest that this roster is needing in a bad way. Jerry Attaochu has been in and out of the lineup with a hamstring injury that just can’t get enough rest.

Jason Verrett

has been hurting with a shoulder injury and has been practicing, but we haven’t been sure if he is going to play.

Ryan Mathews

can work his way back from his knee injury.

Donald Brown

can get back from his concussion.

Brandon Flowers

from his concussion.

Dwight Freeney

and

Antonio Gates

are just old and could use the rest.

Melvin Ingram

will be able to join the team at some point soon.

Manti Te’o

can work his way back with the foot injury. There are a lot of injuries to come back from.

The team could use the off days to get some playmakers back on the field. It’s never a good look if you have that many starters sitting on the sideline.

The boys deserve the rest. They have been grinding all season and have only a couple of games till they get to sit back for a bit. How nice would it be to go into the BYE with 2 more wins under their belt?
