San Diego Chargers CB Jason Verrett has been playing great in his first season in the league. He is rated as one of the top corners in the game at this time and he has learned a ton from Brandon Flowers.
Jason Verrett on Brandon Flowers "He's my big bro, he just got me under his wings and is teaching me the game. He's been a big help."

Flowers has been great for the Chargers in his first season in San Diego. He has helped lock down receivers on opposing teams and he has helped Jason Verrett grow on defense.

Flowers was brought over onto the roster to help the secondary and he was also brought onto the roster to help the other young corners on the roster. He has done well in his time and has definitely helped the young corners grow.
Verrett and Flowers have the similar type of build and have the same type of game. They are athletic and are short in stature. Verrett has a ton to learn in the league still, which is part of the reason why people are so excited to have him on the roster. If he is able to produce at this level in his rookie season, then we are excited at what he could do with more experience on the field.
Flowers is a free agent at the end of the season and the team should find a way to sign him to a long-term deal. The team needs to bring him back so that he can produce in the secondary and so that he could be a leader for the other young players on the secondary.”
Flowers will be looking for a nice deal in free agency. Hopefully he will be able to get that deal in San Diego.
