September was a rough month for the NFL. Dark days lie ahead thanks in part to the Ray Rice scandal.
But in light of everything, Chargers safety Eric Weddle has taken a stand in the fight against domestic violence towards women. Weddle has joined forces with Evolution Lighthouse to create Eric Weddle’s Collection of Game Day Jewelry.
“I’m very happy to be supporting such a great cause,” Weddle said. “It means everything to give back to the community and those in need.”
Weddle will be donating proceeds from his new jewerly line to battered women charities. The jewelry puts emphasis on the beauty, sophistication and perception that women should be seen as glamourous. The plan is to spread awareness for domestic violence and abuse.
“With this collection, Evolution Lighthouse and Eric Weddle want to bring men and women even closer together in sharing their passion and love for football, while always looking good.”
Evolution Lighthouse is a San Diego-based jewelry and accessories company. Patrick Pickford, Gerly Noland and lead designer Danielle Greisen launched the company in 2013. Their goal: give back to the community and charities.
“From large fashion shows to local news, Evolution Lighthouse prides itself on making their home town patrons look great. It was only natural to have this urge spill over to San Diego’s biggest sports team and its fans.”
Pickford said Weddle thought this idea “seemed perfect.”
“Eric (Weddle) was very happy to be able to give his proceeds from his line of Charger-themed items to battered women charities and show his support for women everywhere,” he said.
Weddle’s new line has been showcased on KUSI TV, with former Mrs. California, Staci Ortiz-Davis, as the spokesperson for the company.
“We tried to keep items inexpensive, like the ‘Bolt Rings’ for only $14,” Pickford said.
“From necklaces, to bracelets, to rings, anything you may need to show your spirit with class, Evolution Lighthouse and Eric Weddle have you covered.”
