Dwight Freeney is back on the practice field today after missing the last couple of practices nursing an injury. That is good news for the Chargers defense that has a number of players that is nursing some injuries.

Freeney should be good to play on Sunday against the Jets, but the same can’t be said about his other linebacker teammates. Jerry Attaochu still is not practicing, but he is doing some running on the side. That might be the best update that we have heard on him in a while. Hopefully he will be able to get in the game soon. He looks like he could be an impact player on this defense if he is on the field.

Reggie walker, Shareece Wright and Manti Te’o all look like they will be sitting out this game with an injury as well. That means we are going to see more of Jason Verrett, Cordarro Law and Kavell Conner on the field. This defense has some nice depth, but it sure is getting tested.

Another player missing practice is Rich Ohrnberger and that means that Doug Legursky will likely get the start at center again. This will be his second straight start. I guess that is some consistency for the position? He has a tough task in front of him on Sunday.
