Jason Verrett is again on the practice field today and should be expected to start this weekend against the New York Jets. Shareece Wright is expected to miss some time with his knee injury and will have to sit this one on the sideline.

WR Malcom Floyd (illness)practicing after Wednesday rest. CB Jason Verrett (hamstring) moving well in individual drills. Was limited Wed.

Verrett has played well in his opportunities and could get another shot to start. With Verrett in the starting lineup, it would also mean more opportunities for Steve Williams or Richard Marshall to get on the field in the nickel. Williams has not played very well in limited opportunities.

Chargers short on LBs: Dwight Freeney (knee), Jerry Attaochu (hamstring), Reggie Walker (ankle), Manti Te'o (foot) not in individual drills.

The group at linebacker is short. Dwight Freeney likely will get back on the field tomorrow or will work a little with the team today though. I expect him to be playing on Sunday against the Jets. Cordarro Law could see a lot more action this weekend with all the injuries at linebacker. He was impressive in his first action of the season.

Chargers center Rich Ohrnberger (back) not practicing. Doug Legursky likely to make second straight start.

Rich Ohrnberger is not practicing again and Doug Legursky likely will be the starter again this weekend. He can only get better with time. He will get more comfortable with his teammates. As he is working his way with this team, hopefully he will be able to limit the mistakes.
