The San Diego Chargers also have worked out former Kansas City Chiefs RB Shaun Draughn today along with RB D.J. Adams. Draughn could be an option for the 53-man roster. He wouldn’t be a big signing for the team and would be someone who would just take a few carries off of the back of Donald Brown.

Draughn was expected to start the season as the Chicago Bears number 2 runningback, but was waived before the start of the season. Draughn has averaged 3.7 yards on his 63 carries in his career and is only 27 years old.
If Draughn was signed, I would expect the team to rely on Branden Oliver and Donald Brown the most on offense. Draughn would just be an insurance option on the roster. This would be a typical move by Tom Telesco. It wouldn’t be a very exciting move by the team and he would trust the players that he already has on the roster. Hopefully Branden Oliver is ready for the work.
If Draughn was signed, I would begin to wonder why the team didn’t just sign Marion Grice off of the practice squad.
