The San Diego Chargers are looking to find a running back to add to their depth chart with Danny Woodhead on the IR. We can rule runningback Marion Grice off of the list, since he has been signed off of our practice squad by the Arizona Cardinals, per Michael Gehlken.
Who will the Chargers go with at the position now? The team likely was going to go with a veteran anyway, but now Grice doesn’t even have a chance to be part of the roster.
Teams are able to sign any player from other team’s practice squads onto their 53-man roster and Grice has been picked up by Arizona. With Grice gone, the team will look for a veteran to add to the depth chart. I still believe that it will come down to BenJarvus Green-Ellis and LaMichael James.
The Chargers used their 6th round draft pick to select Grice, but Branden Oliver beat him out for a roster spot and he was forced onto the practice squad.
