I am not sure why I didn’t think about this earlier, but two of the biggest trash talkers in the league are going to collide on Sunday. San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers will be going up against Seattle Seahawks and their loud mouth CB Richard Sherman.
We all know that Rivers loves to flap the gums on the field. It is how he competes and some of us love it. Some of us hate that mess also. Come Sunday, Richard Sherman and Philip Rivers are sure to be talking smack against each other on the field.
Rivers already said that he is not going to stay away from Sherman’s side. He respects him as a corner, but the true respect will be seen on the field. If he shies away from that side during the game, then that is respect from Philip.
We all know Philip though. He wants to attack the best corners in the game. He never has been afraid of Nnamdi Asomugha when he was at the top of the game. He never was afraid of Darrelle Revis when he was at the top of the game. Now he has another challenge that he will go after.
When Philip makes a play, he will be barking. If Sherman makes a play, he will be barking as well. The winner of this shouting match will get to point at the scoreboard. I hope that will be Philip.
