I hate talking about losses for the San Diego Chargers. There were a lot of good things that happened in the game that we can talk about. We can reflect on some of the stupid things that happened later in the day, but this post will be about the good play of some of the players on the field.
Here are some of the things that were all rainbows and sunshine:
The kid was getting tested by the veteran and he stood up to the challenge by knocking down balls over and over again. He stepped up with some hits on players and didn’t allow anything easy around him. The defense will be much stronger with him on the field with the other corners.
When you don’t hear a corner’s name much in the day, then we know that he stepped up and locked it down on the outside. Larry Fitzgerald was pretty quiet during the day.
The rookies stepped up nice in the first game. On the road, they made plays. Attaouchu showed off his ability to speed past the line and get to the quarterback. He got the strip sack and also blocked a punt.
I know he failed to get the pair of sacks on back to back plays, but his ability to get to the quarterback is still there. He just needs to wrap them up and finish it off.
Special Teams Coverage
The coverage units help the Cardinals deep in their zone after kickoffs. All the guys in coverage stepped in to make plays.
It was nice to have Floyd back on the field and he scored a touchdown in his first game back. He should be a big weapon for the team down the road.
