Vincent Brown released by San Diego Chargers

The San Diego Chargers have finally moved forward from Vincent Brown. Brown showed potential in his opportunities before his devastating injury in preseason a couple of seasons ago, but he was given the opportunity to start last season and failed to produce. He worked this offseason to hopefully make a bigger impact but he couldn’t get onto the field because of a calf injury.
WR Vincent Brown won't be on Chargers' 53-man roster, source says. Calf injury healing. Expected to play this season. Not for them.

The injury held him out for the whole training camp and the team didn’t get to see enough of him. Instead the team will roll without him. Dontrelle Inman likely has made the squad and it is possible that Javontee Herndon could get an opportunity. Otherwise, Herndon will get an opportunity to be on the practice squad.
The depth at the position isn’t the best. The team may want to keep their eyes open for other options available through the waiver wire. Inman has potential and Tutu is a solid contributor, but the team didn’t hit with their selection of Tevin Reese and they had the opportunity to add some wide receiver talent in this receiver heavy draft class.
