August 24, 2014; Santa Clara, CA, USA; San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip  Rivers (17) watches from the sideline during the fourth quarter against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi

Quarterbacks (2)

Philip Rivers, Kellen Clemens

Philip Rivers and Kellen Clemens are locked for the roster. The biggest question has to be with Brad Sorensen. If the team would like to keep another position player on the roster, Sorensen may miss the final cut.

More from LA Chargers News

Running Backs (5)

Ryan Mathews, Danny Woodhead, Donald Brown, Branden Oliver, Marion Grice

The running backs position is deep and the team could keep two rookies around. Oliver has been compared to Darren Sproles and should keep his roster spot. Marion Grice may be kept on the roster for his potential

Tight Ends (4)

Antonio Gates, Ladarius Green, David Johnson, John Phillips

Again, this part of the roster is solid. Johnson will be a huge upgrade up front to create holes for the running game. There are times when the team had 3 tight ends on the field.

Wide Receivers (6)

Keenan Allen, Malcom Floyd, Eddie Royal, Dontrelle Inman, Vincent Brown, Seyi Ajirotutu

Vincent Brown is keeping his roster spot, since nobody has really stepped their game up to take the spot. With the team keeping only 2 quarterbacks, it makes room to keep Seyi Ajirotutu on the roster. He is a special teams ace on this team and has a knack of making a big play.

Offensive Linemen (8)

Nick Hardwick, D.J. Fluker, King Dunlap, Chad Rinehart, Jeromey Clary, Chris Watt, Johnnie Troutman, Rich Ohrnberger

Jeromey Clary may not have been on the field this preseason and training camp, but he looks like he will get a roster spot the same way that Vincent Brown will get one. Nobody has stepped up to take his spot. Clary can play a few positions on the line and could be nice depth on the roster. He may have lost his starting job though.
