The San Diego Chargers needed to find more depth on the roster up front after some of the injuries on the roster. The team has claimed DE Joe Kruger off of waivers today from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kruger was one of the surprise cuts off of the Eagles roster. He spent all of last season on the injured reserve. He put on 20 pounds in the offseason in order to prep for the season, but the Eagles decided to move in a different direction up front. The Eagles have a number of talented guys up front and Kruger can help the San Diego Chargers in the trenches.
The depth up front for the Chargers has taken a hit with the injuries to Kwame Geathers, Sean Lissemore and Lawrence Guy. With those guys nursing back to health, the team needed to add someone to the depth chart.
I am sure that Tom Telesco has had his eyes on Kruger for the last few weeks. Kruger has a good shot at making this roster.
