San Diego Chargers rookie CB Jason Verrett is expected to make his preseason debut this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers per Michael Gehlken. The team had slowly worked him back onto the field as he was gaining strength back in his shoulder.

The fans will finally get to see their first round draft pick on the field this Sunday and can see some of the potential that they picked up in the draft. Verrett has been working with the first team in some nickel situations and should see some action with the first team this weekend.

We will get to see his quickness on the field and see if his height becomes a problem against receivers. That was the biggest concern in selecting Verrett onto the roster and we will see if it comes into play.

Either way, it will be nice to see the secondary working with Verrett and Brandon Flowers on the field. Verrett has been dressed for the first two games of the year, but didn’t get into the action. The time is now. Looking forward to seeing him make some plays.
