Field Conditions in San Francisco are sketcy

The field conditions for the San Diego Chargers game in San Francisco sound sketchy (Matt Maiocco). 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh had to cut practice short today because of the conditions on the field. His players were slipping and there were huge divots left on the field from the game that was played last week. It doesn’t sound like the greatest conditions to have our top players playing in for at least a half.
This is the game that we have our starters rolling through and getting their reps in though. This is the most realistic of the three preseason games and we have to deal with the conditions that we have been given. Still, knowing the conditions, we don’t have to play some of the top guys for a whole half. Not in a glorified practice. Not if the risk for knee injuries is higher than normal.
The San Francisco 49ers just cut their practice short because of the field positions. Should we really be thinking about putting our best out there?
