Mandatory Credit: Jake Roth-USA TODAY SportsRookie Javontee Herndon has earned a spot with the 2s on offense, per Michael Gehlken. With Vincent Brown nursing his injury, the rookie is getting the reps and making the most of it. He already has moved above draft selection Tevin Reese on the depth chart and will be looking to make more of an impression in the preseason action against the Seattle Seahwaks.

It will be a longshot for Herndon to make the roster, but the opportunity is there for him to impress. He has to do it against one of the best secondaries in the game on Friday.

I liker Herndon’s game and think that he could be a nice player to have on the roster. It would be nice for him to learn under Keenan Allen and Malcom Floyd. He has a good combination of size and quickness and could develop well in this offense. He could get some work on special teams as well in the return game. His best opportunity to make the roster will be by making an impression on offense tomorrow. Another player is pushing Vincent Brown. I want Vincent Brown to do well, but he can’t do anything on the bench.
