Brandon Flowers has a lot of San Diego Chargers fans buzzing over the possibilities. He hasn’t even been signed to the roster YET.

There is a lot to takeaway in the team’s pursuit of Brandon Flowers.

Tom Telesco is not afraid to go after players with a big name. Flowers isn’t the biggest name, but he did head to the Pro Bowl last season and signed a hefty contract with the Kansas City Chiefs for his performance in the past. He is wanted by a few teams out there and we are one of the mentioned. We had been mentioned to be in pursuit of other big names as well in the past.

Tom Telesco is always looking for players to improve the roster. Last season he brought in Dwight Freeney late in the offseason. We also added Sean Lissemore right before the season opened up. This season we are looking to bring in Brandon Flowers. We already brought in a few corners this offseason, but Tom doesn’t want to stop adding talent.

We are ready to win now. If we were looking toward the future of the team, we would take the bumps and bruises with Jason Verrett and Steve Williams getting a buttload of reps in the secondary. Instead, we are looking to add veteran talent onto the roster to help ease the youngsters into the game. We want to hang with the big boys. We an be mentioned with the rest of those teams.
