The San Diego Chargers have brought in former Kansas City Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers into town for a visit per Ian Rapoport. Flowers was making $10 million per season with the Chiefs and was a member of the Pro Bowl last season, but the Chiefs were moving in a different direction.
Flowers has a lot of interest around the league and it would likely cost a pretty penny in order to sign him to a deal. The Chargers do not have much room under the cap in order to bring him on. If they would want to bring Flowers onto the roster, it would take a big move to make some space under the cap. It could mean that the Chargers release Jeromey Clary or work a new deal for him.
Flowers would be a nice addition to the roster. The team had issues in the secondary last season and we have been looking for any help that we can get for the team. Jason Verrett will already be an upgrade on the roster. Flowers would add even more talent onto the team.
It would be a legit move. It shows that the team is interested in winning. Last season, the Chargers made a big move late in the offseason to bring in Dwight Freeney. Could they do it again this offseason by bringing in Brandon Flowers.
