Antonio Gates is not in attendance for San Diego Chargers mandatory minicamp that opened up today. Strange that I posted something this morning about him possibly not making it to camp and he really didn’t make it. I didn’t really expect him to miss out. His absence is excused though, so he will be avoiding the fine and the team is aware of the situation.

Dwight Freeney is on the field participating in team drills today. He didn’t do anything during the previous 3 weeks of voluntary work, but he out on the field working today. That is a great sign for his recovery from the injury.
