There is a fine line between cocky and confident. Players in the NFL ave to walk that line all the time and it is their confidence that helps them stand out in front of the world. Keenan Allen showed that he can toe the line of that cockiness in his first season. He showed up to the games and looked like a star when he got the chance.
Another rookie from this draft wants to come in and prove that he is going to be a stud. Jeremiah Attaochu feels that he has what it takes to be a star in the league:
“I’m going to be an amazing player,” concedes the 6-3, 253-pound Attaochu, in town for the team’s weekend rookie camp. “I’ve been blessed throughout my career and I hope to continue that here. I’m going to be a fixture on this defense for years to come.
“I was a three-star recruit out of high school playing with all these 4-and-5-star guys. I had the drive to succeed. I was one of the best pass rushers to go through Georgia Tech. But I’m not a big hype guy. I came here to go to work.” – SDUT
If he can provide a pass rush on this defense and force some hits on some quarterbacks, then this defense is going to benefit greatly. Everyone else on the defense will start playing better. He will get his chances to make plays. He will be counted on to get after the quarterback. We will see if he becomes the “amazing player” that he expects to be. We all are pulling for him to make that type of “amazing” impact. If this defense can perform, this team will be right back in the playoffs.
