San Diego Chargers: Too Early Prediction at 53 Man Roster
January 23, 2014; Honolulu, HI, USA; Team Sanders running back Jamaal Charles of the Kansas City Chiefs (25) runs with the football against safety Eric Weddle of the San Diego Chargers (32) during practice for the 2014 Pro Bowl at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Secondary (9)
Eric Weddle, Jahleel Addae, Shareece Wright, Jason Verrett, Richard Marshall, Steve Williams, Marcus Gilchrist, Darrell Stuckey, Brandon Taylor
The team needed to find some help in the secondary and found a player in the first round of the draft. Jason Verrett will get his opportunity to start on defense in training camp. Richard Marshall will also be fighting for that starting job with him.
Shareece Wright has one of the jobs locked in. He finished the season strong and will need to continue with that growth.
Marcus Gilchrist did well in the slot last season and should be moved in that role more. Steve Williams will be coming back from injury and he still needs to prove himself.
Eric Weddle will hold down his job and hopefully the new additions to the team will allow him to roam free a little more. Jahleel Addae has been working hard this offseason and will be pushing to take the other starting safety job.
Brandon Taylor might be back. Who knows how that recovery is going. Darrell Stuckey is the ace on special teams and will have a job.
Brandon Ghee will be pushing for a job on the roster. He could be someone to watch. Crezdon Butler and Marcus Cromartie will also be pushing for a job.
