Robert Herron, Wyoming:
Our final receiver is going to come from Malcom Floyd’s old stomping grounds.. University of Wyoming. I know that there are a TON of other guys that may fall down the ladder, and be available in the third and fourth round. But, those players have been covered endlessly. Herron MIGHT actually go in the 3rd round, but I am guessing he will go in the fourth. The Chargers have peeked at Herron, who is more of a prototypical slot receiver. He has trouble tracking the deep ball, but IS experienced on the outside. He’s been a little dinged up, so long-term durability concerns could make him slide down draft boards.
He is another fast little guy, who has great potential to be used in the return game. He wasn’t used as a returner very much in college, as he was too valuable to the offense. That might change in the NFL, but he could still be very productive in the passing game. He draws comparisons to Odell Beckham, but doesn’t have the same clean route-running skills. However, he has a combination of speed, and agility, that makes him very dangerous. He would be worth a look in the fourth round, without a doubt.
