Round 3
Marcus Smith, OLB Louisville
As an NCAA sack leader in 2013, Marcus Smith amassed 14 sacks for the Louisville Cardinals. Smith is built just how you want a 3-4 OLB: 6’3”, 252lb, 4.58 40 and those ever important 34” arms. Smith can also be utilized as a chess piece and can play all over the defensive line and linebacker positions. He seems to be an all around playmaker – shows a good variety of pass rush moves including an occasional spin move (Freeney mentor anyone?). Smith is also underrated as a coverage man. He shows the ability to drop back and does rather well with slot receivers and tight ends – at least in shorter fields. This is the 3-4 OLB the bolts need. He could be provide real value here and would definitely see some playing time.
